Rebuilt Cathedral at Moscow river

This is the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour (Russian: Хра́м Христа́ Спаси́теля), the tallest Eastern Orthodox Church in the world. It is situated on the bank of the Moskva River, a few blocks west of the Kremlin.

Stalin had it destroyed by dynamite in 1931 in order to build a monument for socialism, it took a year to clear out the rubble. The monument was never built, the place has been a public swimming pool during Nikita Khrushchev, reign and only 15 years ago, the rebuilding had started, finishing a few years ago, against a cost of more than 300 million dollar…
